Dear second semester senior,
You're in the last mile stretch, the last inning and many other cheesy sports related sayings before you exit through the doors of your high school and entering a new room filled with mysteries and excitement. For many, including myself, this uncertainty of what lies ahead is the most frightening experience I'll face thus far. But I would suggest that instead of cowering in fear, just to live your life as is to welcome your future with a welcoming embrace. No one really knows what tomorrow or what 5 years from now brings. Worrying about the future won't make it arrive faster so help make your last few months worthwhile I have several tips for you all.
With that I leave you to think of the time you have left at your school. Also think back to special moments of the past years. Any interesting memories that come into mind leave them in the comments below.
- Take an abundant amount of pictures.
At any given moment you spend with friends and family is a moment you'd want to keep with forever. And although these memories will always be deep in your brain, later when you wish to remember of the great time you and your friends had while "moon watching" during the Lunar Eclipse in April would be in fragmented shreds of what happened that time. Pictures make it way easier to recount and remember any moment you choose to capture. Another plus to taking pictures, you get to keep them forever or even make an awesome memory board for your best friend as a graduation gift. Take pictures my friends, capture the moment and it's beauty with a simple press of button.
- Don't allow "Senioritis" to ruin what you've worked hard to get.
Senioritis- A condition in which someone who is on track to graduating aka a senior in either high school or university feels the need to not give a fuck about anything concerning anything at all. I'm not going to lie, I've been affected with this "condition" ever since the start of the school year but it had reached its full effect when I received a big envelope to the college of my dreams. As much as you/I may want to stop caring about your grades, not go to school, living the senior life just barely passing, it is not worth it. You worked so hard all through high school to get the grades you got just to throw it away in the end? To me that is sad and pathetic. And depending on how bad your grade dropped, most colleges would indeed take back their acceptance. Only the more reason to at least try to keep your grades the same. It would benefit when it comes to getting awards and recognition on Senior Awards Night. So don't throw away the achievements you worked really hard to get.
- Plan a road trip/outing with all of your friends.
The weather is finally getting nice (at least up here in the Northeastern part of the United States) from the wrenching cold of the past winter. But never fear the cold any longer because it's spring and soon it will be summer! Best way to celebrate, is to be outside with friends. Go to a new town or city of interest for the day, head to a national park and camp for a night, have a bonfire at the beach, anything at all as long as it involves being out in the sun enjoying the incoming heat of spring and summer.
- Fix any broken relationships you had in the past.
Let's face it, after graduation there is a very slim chance that you'll see anyone, aside from family and one or two of your best friends. It's better to leave on a good step rather than a sour note. What I'm trying to say is, forget and forgive those involved in all the petty drama. Drama that seems to happen quite often during high school (and I hope not in college). Not only will you feel better but also the other people involved.
- Have fun.
The best advice I can give is to have fun, don't stress too much about things that are temporary. This is the last year of high school/college, you'll be going off into a new point in your life with new worries and new challenges for you to face when it comes. For now just let loose and have some fun. Make the most of the little time you have left.

Thank you for reading!
Until next time,
